The journey of the Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, from its establishment to its official transformation into the Informatics Study Program.

Academic Journey

The Informatics Study Program at Udayana University originated as the Computer Science Study Program, later became the Informatics Engineering Study Program, and was eventually officially renamed the Informatics Study Program.

2006

The first academic year in which lectures were officially conducted for the first cohort of students.

August 13, 2005

Approval by the Faculty Senate

The Informatics Study Program was initially named the Computer Science Study Program. Its establishment began with the approval of the Senate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, regarding the formation of the Computer Science Study Program within the faculty.

September 15, 2005

Approval at the University Level

The proposal to establish the Computer Science Study Program was then brought to the university level through the approval of the Udayana University Leadership Meeting, which approved the establishment of the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

April 12, 2006

Study Program Operational Permit

The Directorate General of Higher Education issued the operational permit for the Computer Science Study Program through DIKTI Decree Number 1193/D/T/2006. The permit was valid for two years, starting from the first academic year.

September 3, 2006

First Cohort Lectures Began

The Department/Study Program of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, officially began conducting lectures for its first cohort of students in the 2006/2007 academic year.

2012

Renamed as Informatics Engineering

In 2012, the Computer Science Study Program was renamed the Informatics Engineering Study Program in accordance with Law Number 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, Article 10, concerning the classification of fields of knowledge.

June 11, 2020

Renamed as Informatics Study Program

Based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 574/M/2020, dated June 11, 2020, the Informatics Engineering Study Program was officially renamed the Informatics Study Program.

The Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, continues to develop as a study program that contributes to education, research, and the advancement of knowledge in the fields of informatics and information technology.
