Informatics Team of FMIPA Udayana University Wins Prestigious Award at COMAP MCM/ICM 2026

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University has once again achieved an outstanding international accomplishment through students of the Informatics Study Program at the International COMAP Mathematical Contest in Modeling / Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) 2026.

The FMIPA Udayana University team, consisting of Akira Rian Satya Dhamma, Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Ananda Wirasena, and I Gede Abhijana Prayata Wistara, under the supervision of I Wayan Supriana, S.Si., M.Cs., successfully earned the Meritorious Winner award. This achievement is especially remarkable as Udayana University became the only representative from Indonesia to receive this distinction in this year’s competition.

COMAP MCM/ICM is a prestigious international competition organized by the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications (COMAP), United States. The competition challenges students to solve real-world problems through mathematical modeling, data analysis, computation, and scientific report writing within a limited time frame. The event is participated in by thousands of university teams from around the world.

The Meritorious Winner designation is awarded to teams that demonstrate excellence in analysis, modeling, problem-solving, and the preparation of comprehensive scientific solutions. This recognition places the Udayana University team among the top-performing teams in the international competition.
