Teaching Informatics with the Theme Technology for Active and Interactive Education

The Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, successfully held a community service activity titled "Informatics Teaching 2026" at Pemecutan 10 Elementary School on July 21-22, 2026. Themed "TECHATIVE (Technology for Active and Interactive Education)," this activity aimed to introduce students to the world of technology in a targeted manner from an early age. Day 1 began with an opening ceremony and group division, followed by a presentation session on technology fundamentals and an introduction to basic coding concepts. Participants were invited to engage in interactive initial practice using the visual platform Scratch, under the direct guidance of mentors.

On Day 2, student enthusiasm grew through material review sessions and group bonding activities that strengthened group camaraderie. In the main session, participants were given group assignments to collaboratively design and create a Scratch-based coding project. Upon completion, each group presented their work to mentors and peers. This was followed by a session to share stories and reflect on the experiences and challenges encountered during the project development process.

The series of events concluded with lively educational games and an appreciation session, where awards were presented to recognize the hard work and creativity of each group. The entire Informatics Teaching 2026 program concluded with an official closing session with the school. Through this program, it is hoped that the students of SD Negeri 10 Pemecutan will gain a fun and in-depth understanding of the world of informatics and be encouraged to continue exploring the potential of technology for the future.
